We are looking for a Payroll Coordinator who would be responsible for accurately processing payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, federal and state laws, and maintaining detailed records of all payroll activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Compensation: $55k+

Job Type: Full-Time (Hybrid)

Location: Houston, TX 3040 Post Oak Blvd

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and verify timesheets, attendance records, and other data to ensure accuracy.
  • Calculate wages, salaries, overtime, and deductions (e.g., taxes, benefits).
  • Process and issue paychecks, direct deposits, and any adjustments.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including personal information, pay rates, and tax withholding.
  • Track and record paid time off, sick leave, and other employee benefits.
  • Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and apply them appropriately.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management, including summaries of earnings, deductions, and taxes.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax filings and year-end reports, such as W-2s and 1099s.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, including issues related to paychecks, deductions, and benefits.
  • Provide information and assistance to employees on payroll-related matters.
  • Collaborate with HR for new hire onboarding and employee status changes.
  • Work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate reporting and budget management
  • Maintain payroll files and documentation in an organized manner.
  • Assist with audits and internal reviews related to payroll.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in payroll processing or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Paychex).
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
